The Present That Never Happened

If I am not happy, I can’t make the ones I love happy. If these around me are not happy, I can’t be.

My happiness depends on my needs. Some of the happiness of the ones I love depends on me.

I want to secure a future for my family. I also want to be in the present, with my family.

I can be fully in the present and regret a missed future. I can be in the future, and regret later on the present that never happened.
